The replacement of an existing annex to a holiday home, to create a comfortable and contemporary space to relax and enjoy the views.
Design Approach.
We began by locating the replacement annex on the same footprint as the existing structure, saving costs by utilising the existing foundations and services infrastructure. We then provided several different design options to discuss with the Client.
We wanted each layout to maximise views and create a logical and efficient internal sequence of spaces. After selecting a design option, we worked with a prefab contractor to develop the design and price the scheme for production.
Services Provided.
After an initial consultation with the Client we returned to site to carry out a site analysis and a measured survey of the existing structure. 3no. design options were produced to explore opportunities for the scheme and to offer alternative features in the design.
Buju Architects arranged a price for the prefabrication and construction of the timber frame structure, ready for its cladding and internal fit out.
